International Dot Day!
September 15th
International Dot Day is always on September 15. That's the day an art teacher read THE DOT, by Peter H. Reynolds to his students in 2009. The story is about a girl in art class who does not feel confident about her work and her teacher encourages her to "Just make a mark." Now people from all over the world participate in all types of activities to celebrate this wonderful book! K and 1 made circle paintings and they are almost ready for display. They have been listening to the Circle Song while they paint. It is linked below. Watch out though it WILL stick in your head! "A circle is a shape it goes around and around..." Yep, it's definitely stuck in my head. What a fun song! Pride Artists love to follow the directions in it ! ART SMART words: Curve (line), Circle, Geometric Shape, Connect, and Wax Resist.
