Welcome to Reynolds Elementary where every student is a SUPER ARTIST!  The school wide theme this year  is Superheroes and we will be leaping the Elements of Art and Principles of Design in a single bound!  Well, errr something to that effect.  Maybe in several bounds.  =)

This year I have challenged all artists to draw ever so lightly on his or her paper.  That way if a mistake is made it will be much easier to adjust the line.  If a hard line is drawn, well it's pretty much going to stay there.  I'm not big on using erasers because I would rather students spend time practicing DRAWING not erasing.  That is how I learned and how all artists learn.  =)

The first projects are as follows: K and 1 will be creating circle art in honor of Peter H. Reynolds book, The Dot.  2nd and 3rd will be designing a Superhero based on themselves, and 4th and 5th will begin making journals by hand and personalizing them with embellishments.  Please check the art blog regularly for information about upcoming events and to see what's happening in art class!
