Happy International Dot Day!

Yesterday was International Dot Day in honor of Peter H. Reynolds book, The Dot. This book encourages us to be brave and express ourselves, and reminds us to start small and explore the IDEA. The catch phrase is- "Make a mark and see where it takes you." Art classes explored circular art. They traced a template on their paper and created art within the space of the circle. Our ART SMART words were Circle, Circular, Composition and Pattern.

Tuesdays
Did you know The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens is FREE on Tuesdays from 5-9 p.m? What a fantastic family outing. Be sure to visit in the spring when the gardens are in full bloom!

Saturdays
Visit RAM- Riverside Arts Market from 10-4. Enjoy fresh farmers market, activities for the children, vendor food, music, and unique crafts and gifts. Under the Fuller Warren Bridge on Riverside Avenue next to the Cummer Museum.

First Wednesday of Each Month
Downtown Artwalk from 5-9 pm.
This is a self-guided walking tour to see art at a variety of venues downtown. Start off at Hemming Plaza where there is usually music, enjoy the many art booths and even talk to the artists about their work, then head over to MOCA Jax museum and see the exhibits, and The Atrium Project which is an exhibit that changes every few months.

Community Project for Lutheran Social Services-
Selected classes will be making clay bowls for the Empty Bowls Luncheon Event in November to help raise funds for the Hunger Program and other services.
